Terms of Service
Last updated October 30, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and SongPulse (“SongPulse”, “we”, “us”) about your use of SongPulse: the website, the dashboard, and the links and pages it makes (listener and industry links, song pages, collections and collabs). Please read them with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information. By creating an account or using SongPulse you agree to both. If you use SongPulse for a company or band, you agree for them too, and confirm you're allowed to.
1. Your account
- SongPulse is invite-only during early access. You need to be at least 16 (or the age of digital consent where you live).
- Give accurate details, keep your password private, and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. You're responsible for what happens under it.
- Each account is for one person. A workspace owner can let others in and is responsible for what they do there.
2. Your songs and content
- You keep your rights. Your songs, recordings, lyrics, artwork, writing and other material you add (“your content”) stay yours. We don't claim ownership of anything you add.
- What you let us do. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to host, copy, process, adapt (for example resize artwork or format a page) and show your content, only to run SongPulse for you and the people you share with: to play songs on your links, show your pages, describe your songs with AI, and send the emails you ask for. This ends when you delete the content or close your account, except for copies others already received, short-lived backups, and records we must keep by law.
- Aggregate insights. We may use de-identified, combined data (for example, how listening patterns relate to song styles) to improve SongPulse and to publish general insights. These never identify you, your songs or the people you share with.
- We don't sell your content, and we don't use it to train AI models.
3. Your promises about your content
- You own your content or have every permission needed to use it on SongPulse, including from co-writers, performers, producers and anyone else involved.
- Rights declarations you make (who wrote a song, splits, how it was produced, samples, release status) are true to the best of your knowledge, and you'll update them if they change.
- Recordings made with AI tools (such as Suno) comply with that tool's terms, including any plan requirements for commercial use. Songs you didn't write can be tested and pitched only if you have the rights to do so, and can't be offered for licensing.
- Your content doesn't infringe anyone's rights, isn't unlawful, and doesn't contain malware.
4. Using SongPulse fairly
Don't:
- upload or share content you don't have the rights to, or that is unlawful, hateful, harassing or sexually exploitative;
- use SongPulse to send spam, or send links to people you have no reason to contact;
- fake listens, ratings or answers, or try to manipulate results;
- scrape SongPulse, get around its limits or security, probe for weaknesses without permission, or overload it;
- use another person's account, or pretend to be someone you're not;
- resell SongPulse or its AI features, or use them to build a competing service.
5. Listeners, industry contacts and collaborators
- Listeners and industry contacts open your links without an account. You decide who gets them, and you're responsible for having a reason to contact them. When you enter someone's name, role or email, you confirm you're allowed to share it with us.
- Collaborators join a collab through a personal link and can read and post in it, including adding new versions of the song. Anyone with a link can use it, so share links only with the person they're for. You can remove a collaborator at any time.
- If you use SongPulse as a listener, industry contact or collaborator, these terms apply to what you do there too. What you post in a collab stays yours, and you give the song's owner and the other collaborators permission to use it for working on the song.
- We don't guarantee any result from testing or pitching a song.
6. AI features
- AI features send what's needed (audio, lyrics, notes, song details) to our AI providers: Google (Gemini) for listening and cover art, and Anthropic (Claude) for writing. We use their paid API services, whose terms don't let them use it to train their models. Audio sent for listening is deleted from the provider after it's processed.
- AI output can be wrong or incomplete. Check it, especially transcribed lyrics, chords, artist suggestions and anything you make public or send. You're responsible for what you make public.
- AI-made cover art and text may not be protected by copyright, and may resemble other works. You can use what AI makes for you on SongPulse for your songs, subject to the law and these terms.
7. Credits, plans and payment
- One AI credit covers one song's first full AI preparation; redoing steps on that song is free within fair use. New accounts get 5 free credits, plus 5 more after making a song page public or sending a campaign.
- Credits have no cash value, can't be transferred or sold, and don't expire while your account is open. Free credits may be withdrawn if they're abused (for example, multiple accounts to collect them).
- Paid plans are billed monthly in advance and renew automatically until you cancel. Cancel any time from Plan & credits → Manage billing; your plan runs to the end of the paid period and credits you've received stay yours. Credit packs are one-off purchases.
- Payments are processed by Stripe; we don't see or store your full card details. Prices are in US dollars and don't include taxes, which are added where required.
- Payments aren't refundable except where the law requires, but if something went wrong, contact us and we'll put it right. If you live in the EU or UK you have a 14-day right to cancel a purchase; by using credits straight away you ask us to start immediately and accept that the right ends once the credits are used.
- We'll give at least 30 days' notice of a price change to a plan you're on. If a payment fails, we may pause paid features until it's sorted out.
8. Song licensing
If SongPulse lets songwriters offer licenses for their songs, each license is an agreement between the songwriter and the licensee. SongPulse provides the tools (and may charge a fee) but isn't a party to it unless it says so. Songwriters are responsible for having the rights they license and for the accuracy of their rights declarations. License templates are not legal advice.
9. Copyright complaints
If you think content on SongPulse infringes your copyright, email andrew@songpulse.io with: your contact details, the work you own, the link to the content, a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorised, and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and you're the owner or authorised to act for them, with your signature. We'll remove infringing content and close the accounts of repeat infringers. If your content was removed by mistake, you can send a counter-notice.
10. Other services
Songs often play from SoundCloud, YouTube, Suno or Dropbox, and payments go through Stripe. Their terms apply when you use them, and we aren't responsible for them. If a service changes or removes a song or a link, it may stop playing on SongPulse.
11. Feedback
If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.
12. Suspension and closing your account
- You can close your account at any time by contacting us; we'll delete your content as described in the Privacy Policy.
- We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, put others at risk, or are required to be closed by law. Where reasonable we'll tell you first and give you a chance to fix things and to download your content. If we close your account without cause, we'll refund any prepaid amount for the unused period.
- Sections 2 (aggregate insights), 3, 9 and 13–16 continue after an account closes.
13. Disclaimers
We work hard to keep SongPulse running, accurate and secure, but it's provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we don't give warranties (for example, that it will always be available, error-free, or that listening results or AI output are accurate). Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.
14. Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as lost profits, lost opportunities or lost data), and our total liability for any claim about SongPulse is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and US$100. These limits don't apply to liability that can't be limited by law, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
15. Responsibility for claims about your content
If someone makes a claim against us because of your content or your breach of these terms, you'll cover our reasonable costs and losses from it, to the extent the law allows. We'll tell you about the claim and let you help defend it.
16. The law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, and courts there have jurisdiction, except that if you're a consumer living elsewhere you keep the protection of your local law and can bring claims in your local courts. Before filing a claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve it informally.
17. Changes
SongPulse will change as we improve it. If we make a material change to these terms, we'll tell you by email or in the app and ask you to accept the new version before you carry on; if you don't agree, you can close your account. The date at the top shows the current version.
18. General
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about SongPulse. If part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies. Not enforcing something isn't a waiver. You can't transfer these terms without our agreement; we may transfer them as part of a sale or reorganisation of SongPulse, and your rights under them continue.
